Uzbekistan is offering a new chance for foreign nationals to live in the country through its golden visa program. Beginning June 1, 2025, this program will provide five-year residence permits upon receiving donations of USD 250,000.

A golden visa is a unique initiative by countries to attract financial investments from foreign citizens in return for residency or even citizenship. It serves as a means for these countries to enhance their economies. Uzbekistan already has several golden visa programs, and the new one aims to further promote tourism. There are also existing investment and real estate pathways.

The Ministry of Justice disclosed details of the golden visa program through the presidential decree of April 18, 2025. It specifies that foreign citizens and stateless individuals can obtain residence in Uzbekistan after paying USD 250,000, plus USD 150,000 for each family member, including spouses, children, or parents.

Uzbekistan’s investment visa program motivates individuals to contribute economically in return for a renewable residence permit:

  • 3-year permit: USD 250,000 or 8,500 times the basic estimated value as equity or investment in a local company.

  • 10-year permit: USD 3 million for local businesses producing goods and services.

Uzbekistan’s real estate golden visa pathway invites investors to purchase property in the following areas:

  • USD 300,000 in the Tashkent region.

  • USD 100,000 in the autonomous region of Karakalpakstan.

  • USD 200,000 in cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Namangan, Andijan, Fergana, and Khorezm.
